Tea for two

The Orchard in Radyr is the place to be if you want extremely delicious homemade cakes and scones, afternoon tea, breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, tea and a super relaxed and friendly atmosphere! I’ve dropped in a fair few times since coming across them and I am yet to be disappointed.
Today I visited them for an afternoon tea and I am still full to the brim right now. SO MUCH FOOD. I really appreciated the savoury layer which was something I’d not had on any afternoon tea before! The mini pizza and tomato bruschetta were both brilliant and a very tasty little extra. Another thing that I’ve only come across once before (at Pettigrew) is the choice of cake being yours to make from whatever offerings they have that day. To me, this is a massive bonus as not only can go for something you really like but if your friend chooses something different, you can try theirs as well. SCORE!
The black cherry and honey cake I chose was just divine and even though I had to take it home wrapped in foil, it has since been devoured with yet another mug of tea. Food should never go to waste people.

Now I know you’re going to want to book yourself in after seeing those pictures so give them a call on 02920 842129 or follow them on Twitter @orchardcardiff.
For those conscious of lbs then you’re a-ok at The Orchard as they currently hold a silver award for healthy eating and I’m sure they are well on their way to a gold.
The one thing I ADORE is the variety of cakes on offer, especially the more adventurous/interesting options! Their courgette and lime cake holds a dear place in my heart.
Just incase you need any more persuading…

You won’t be disappointed.
